Met geopende schuifdeur rijden is in de J9\u00a0 minder verantwoord omdat de zijspiegels aan de schuifdeur zijn gemonteerd. Het instrumentenpaneel is overzichtelijk en het zicht naar buiten is ruim dankzij de\u00a0 enorme voorruit. De J9 was standaard voorzien van elektrische ruitensproeiers, ruitenwissers met twee snelheden, zonnekleppen, interieurverlichting in de cabine en een kachelaanjager. Dat maakte de J9 ook aantrekkelijk voor andere carrosseriebouwers. Zij konden speciale uitvoeringen leveren, met garantie van de fabriek. Men kon een compleet kale \u201cChassis Cabine\u201d kopen waarop bijzondere om- en opbouw kon worden geplaatst. De Chassis Cabine werd af fabriek geleverd met versterkingen in het metaal, om de auto van de fabriek te vervoeren naar de carrossier. <br \/><br \/><strong>Productie<\/strong> <br \/>De productieperiode van de J9 is heel lang geweest voor een dergelijke bedrijfsauto. Vanaf de lancering in 1981 is de J9 in Europa nog tot in 1991 leverbaar geweest en in totaal zijn er 245.057 voertuigen van de band gerold. De Turkse fabrikant Karzan heeft de J9 van 1981 tot zelfs 2010 onder licentie geproduceerd. <br \/><br \/><strong>Sterk nummer<\/strong> <br \/>Iedereen die wel eens in Frankrijk is geweest kent het beeld van een kleine markt in een pittoresk Frans dorpje waar het brood of de verse camembert vanuit een J9 winkelwagen wordt verkocht. Bij de brandweer, politie, ziekenhuizen, gemeentes, is de J9 is veelvuldig ingezet.
