Peugeot gaat meedoen aan de nieuwe hypercar-klasse van het kampioenschap: de LMH-klasse. De hypercar-klasse zal die race zijn intrede doen en Peugeot is er bij! Want een van de nieuwe deelnemers is dan deze Peugeot 9X8 hypercar. Het is een hybride die een 2,6-liter V6 met 680 pk combineert met een elektromotor van 292 pk.<\/p>\n<p>De naam 9X8 laat zich eenvoudig ontleden. Het cijfer 9 gebruikt Peugeot altijd al voor de Le Mans-racers. De X staat voor vierwielaandrijving en de 8 gebruikt Peugeot nu voor alle modellen, denk aan de Peugeot 508 en 208. Peugeot neemt volgend jaar twee exemplaren van de 9X8 hypercar mee naar Le Mans.
